You may have heard of Queen Brown. Her son was killed two years ago, and ever since, she’s pushed for an end to youth violence. In speeches and articles, Queen talks about the wrenching experience of losing her son. But the fallout of his death still haunts her. Kenny Malone has her story.

The story was very touching. I support Queen 100% in stopping the violence.
This is great……………continue to get the message out and we will stop the violence.
Queen Brown is truly a remarkable advocate for change for communities to unite to stop the violence in Miami,FL.
After experiencing the paina and agony of loosing a son with a promising future to a senseless violent death, she transferred all her energy, strength and faith to fight the good fight by using her crusade to comfort and console families and encouragae the youth to choose life and not death and believe that with God’s help and love for themselves, nothing is impossilbe.
I am honored to have Queen Brown speak at COMTO’s Black History Program “Changing America Together” on February 27th, 2009, from 5:30PM – 8:00PM at the SWCAB Auditorium located at 3300 NW 32nd Ave. Miami FL
I applaud Ms. Queen Brown for all that she does to keep others froms experiencing the loss of a loved one to violence. I just want to say it is devastating that she lost a son but refreshing to know that she cares about others to share such a personal tragedy to help others. It is important that South Florida and any other listeners appreciate people like Ms Queen not only for her unselfishness but for her willingness to do her part in trying to slow down the momentum of violence through outreach, as a preventive measure. I mean this in love when I say I take her loss as my gain because people like her are far and few between. I live in a small city where people like this rarely show up so please appreciate her…hold her and hear her cry. I want to say its news like this that helps me to sit my girls down and talk about the violence and share some steps they can take to avoid it. As parents, we do not have a manual but I believe this story can help others in raising their children and start some dialog towards ‘stopping the violence’. I commend WLRN for it’s outreach via their radio station as well I look forward to more real stories like Ms. Brown’s. It’s about sharing lil bit by lil bit—WLRN allowed Ms Brown to share and It will not stop if all of us just share this story even if its with someone you may not know that may be headed towards a violent situation. To Ms Brown I say– I pray for your peace but please continue to be a blessing and DO YOU like noone else knows how even when it seems like the way you choose may be extreme yo others but know somebody may not think of it as extreme and know I am one of those some-bodies. I LOVE this story. So sad, but so inspiring!
Ms.Queen Brown, I tuly applaud and suport you in all your endeavors and challenges that you’re faced with throught all the Communities against Youth and Teen Violence. You’re doing a great job and you can come down for such a time as this. I plead for every Parent/Youth to take heed to the message which has pentatrate and inspired me as a Parent of Three who’s striving to make every effort to be the voice, eyes, and ears in my Childrens/Grandchilrens life no matter what age they are. Although; there is an urgent need for our Youth to be steered in the right direction, and awaken with an awareness about Teen Violence Intervention and Prevention in today’s society. Ms. Brown, is that gift to each and everyone of us! An outstanding Leader, and a “Trail Blazer”, Who is making an Impact through out the Communities.
May God bless you and your Family! and, Continue the good work!

Great story, we all have to start from somewhere, parents lets declare war on Teen Violence. Queen I stand with you because it could have been my son.
Keep on keeping on!
Excellent piece about a unique woman. The story is sad, but it needed to be told!
A very sad and touching story. When are we going to have some meaningful gun control to prevent more tragedies like this one?
So moving; what Ms. Brown is doing is so admirable.
I wholeheartedly applaud and admire Queen’s choice to take action on her belief. You’re actually going to where you make the most difference and for that I see you standing right along side the great leaders of our time, Gandhi’s food strike and when Martin Luther King, Jr. had just started. I wish you much love health and motivation to continue with your choice to create the actual change in our society. Thank you.
