- From America’s Most Wanted, McMahon’s Sketch of The Boca Killer
Kenny Malone profiles John McMahon, who is one of the most prominent sketch artists in South Florida. While authorities don’t keep records of the numbers, the TV show America’s Most Wanted asserts that McMahon’s drawings may have helped apprehend almost 800 suspects. When John Walsh, host of the show, needed a police sketch of ” The Boca Killer”, he called on McMahon. The drawing is now McMahon’s most famous.
McMahon was a road deputy for the Broward Sheriff’s Office when he was asked to help with a forensic sketch. He realized: “I could make a bigger impact just with a pencil and a piece of paper and some old booking photographs fighting crime.”
Below are some of his composite sketches, along with photographs of the suspects after they were apprehended. You can see McMahon’s trademark signature on the shirt collar of his drawings.

- Under the Sun producer Kenny Malone wanted to see how well John McMahon remembered him. They only met once. The real Kenny Malone is below. He is not currently a suspect in any crime.
