10 Questions with Jeremy Glazer

Jeremy Glazer is a legislative analyst, a former high school teacher and a Miami native. On his phone message, he has been known to identify himself as a “future hall-of-famer,” but he says he hasn’t decided yet which hall of fame or what his achievement will be. He recently finished his first novel and is looking for a publisher. He is the author of the true short story Club Kid.
1. How long have you been in South Florida?
30 years total.
2. What’s your six-word South Florida memoir?
Born here, moved away, came back.
3. Which South Florida author would you most like to have with you on a deserted island and why?
Myself. I enjoy solitude.
4. Word or phrase you forbid yourself from using in your writing?
LOL.
5. First South Florida author you’d eat on a deserted island and why?
Marjory Stoneman Douglas. She’s already dead so I wouldn’t have to kill her.
6. Favorite thing about the tourist season?
All the European men make me feel tall.
7. Color that most makes you want to vomit when you see it in South Florida?
Leopard.
8. What’s your favorite thing about the off-season (non-tourist season)?
Shorter lines at Wings. More snow globes available.
9. What does the rest of the world have totally wrong about this part of the country?
They think that only the women have implants.
10. In three words, how do you describe the experience of living in South Florida?
