Maria De Los Angeles shared her true, South Florida story "Helen and Her Three Husbands" at a live event produced by Under the Sun and Lip Service at the Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables. The story is about the daughter of Cuban exiles finding a surrogate Jewish grandmother on Miami Beach.

Muralist makes his mark in Little Haiti

If you've ever visited Little Haiti, you've probably seen a Serge Toussaint mural. He spends most of his time in Little Haiti, but his work can be seen in Liberty City, Little River, Allapattah, the Miami River and all the way to Fort Lauderdale. The Haitian-born muralist says he's been a painter for as long as he can remember. But in Miami he became an artist.

Finding solace, a new life in Miami

On September 11, 2001, Tanya Villanueva Tepper's fiancé, Sergio Villanueva, was one of the 343 New York City firefighters who didn't make it out of the World Trade Center. Tanya is featured in the new documentary, Rebirth, which follows five people affected by those attacks, over the course of the last decade. Thousands of Haitians fled to South Florida to escape the devastation in their country after the 2010 earthquake. Some were able to leave Haiti on tourist visas. Others came as guardians to their injured children. No matter how they came to the country, most have been living in limbo in the United States.

Under the Sun recently ran a piece on green flashes - a green light that appears in the sky for a fleeting moment when the sun dips below the horizon. Many believe the green flash to be a myth, but it's actually has a scientific explanation: refraction. We asked readers if they had ever seen a green flash. Many sent us stories and pictures of their experience with the atmospheric phenomenon.
